Funding opportunity: The Trinity Challenge £1 million prize to tackle AMR in low- and middle-income countries
A new innovation competition with a grand prize of up to £1 million is currently accepting submissions. The Trinity Challenge on Antimicrobial Resistance is specifically calling for data-driven solutions focused on low- and middle-income countries to help mitigate the global crisis of antimicrobial resistance.
The Challenge is open both to those already working in antimicrobial resistance, or those who work in different fields but may be able to develop or adapt a data-driven solution with expertise that can be transferred to use in antimicrobial resistance.
Antimicrobial resistance is a ‘One Health’ problem, with a negative impact on human, animal and environmental health. Solutions submitted to the Challenge may focus on one or any combination of these ‘One Health’ elements.
The Challenge was launched with a webinar featuring tips and discussion from the Trinity Challenge team and their partners MIT Solve, plus questions from participants on topics like the Challenge’s community data focus and the application process. You can watch the recording here.
Submissions should be entered via the Challenge platform by 29 February 2024.
The Trinity Challenge is a charity that was founded by Dame Sally Davies in 2020 in response to the Covid-19 pandemic, which highlighted a global need to be better prepared to tackle healthcare emergencies. Find out more about the Trinity Challenge on the website: www.thetrinitychallenge.org
